Sean Chen
Han Kun Law Offices has strengthened its criminal and corporate practices with the hiring of Sean Chen as a Beijing-based partner.
Chen, who has 20 years of experience in the industry, was a former senior partner and head of the Nanjing office at King & Capital Law Firm.
As a criminal defence and compliance lawyer, he has experience in advising clients on crimes related to state-owned companies or government institutions, securities and finance. He has defended clients in cases involving corruption and bribery, malpractice, infringement of property rights, and citizens’ personal rights.
Chen has assisted clients in the finance, capital markets, high‑tech, internet, culture and entertainment sectors. Among them is a state‑owned coal company, which he assisted in its fundraising and trade deals with dozens of large state‑owned enterprises.
He has also worked on a contract dispute involving a claim of RMB4.6 billion (USD634.5 million) between a trust company and a large state‑owned company.
