WWE NXT Deadline in San Antonio was an excellent show. Tons of things happened.
First, there is a new NXT Champion. Oba Femi defeated Ricky Saints to kick off his second reign with the title. After an entertaining match, Femi finished Saints with his signature sit-out powerbomb.
With the victory, Femi isn’t just the new NXT champion; He’ll also take on WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington D.C.
At New Year’s Evil, Femi will face Je’Von Evans in a rematch of their classic meeting at Heatwave. Evans won an exciting men’s Iron Survivor match.
At the end of the show while Femi and Evans stared each other down, Tony D’Angelo returned and attacked Evans in the middle of the ring.
However, as good as it was, it was still the second best match of the night behind the women’s Iron Survivor match.
Here’s a look at all of the results and the top moments from each match.
WWE NXT Deadline 2025 Results
- Oba Femi def. (c)Ricky Saints new WWE NXT champion
- Kendal Grey def. Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, Jordynne Grace and Sol Ruca to win Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge
- Ethan Page def. Mr. Iguana
- Izzi Dame def. Tatum Paxley
- Je’Von Evans def. Myles Borne, Leon Slater, Dion Lennox and Joe Hendry
Kendal Grey Wins the Women’s Iron Survivor
You’ll have a hard time finding a better match in the last year. Kendal Grey won the women’s Iron Survivor match in a 25 minutes that featured premium action and drama from five elite performers. Wow.
All five women (Grey, Sol Ruca, Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice and Jordynne Grace) were tied with 2 points with six seconds left when the former got the deciding pin.
Grey came in as the Evolve champion but the win made her the No. 1 contender for Jacy Jane’s NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil. There were too many spots to mention them all, but here’s a few that had my jaw on the floor.
Ethan Page Def. Mr. Iguana
Page knocked off Mr. Iguana in a mildly entertaining match. Page did his best to make things work, but the style mismatch didn’t work as smoothly as you generally hope in these kinds of matchups.
In any case, Page is still ticketed for big-time success for as long as his NXT run lasts and once he is called up to WWE’s main roster.
Izzi Dame def. Tatum Paxley
It is clear which of these Superstars WWE is elevating. Dame seems to have the engine behind her a little more as the Culling caused the distraction that led to the victory. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Dame getting a call-up in the next year.
In totality, the Iron Survivor is a must-see match type that the main roster needs to adopt at some point. It’s a blast to watch. I’d like to see how NXT will evolve the finishes in the coming years.
