Alan Wong
Zhong Lun Law Firm has hired former Sidley Austin counsel Alan Wong as a non‑equity partner at its Hong Kong office, strengthening the firm’s capital markets practice in the city.
This follows Zhong Lun’s recruitment in October of former Sidley Austin partner Renee Xiong, marking the second senior hire from the same firm in recent months.
Wong is qualified in Hong Kong and New South Wales, Australia. His practice focuses on Hong Kong and overseas capital markets, financing transactions and debt restructuring matters, advising financial institutions, credit funds and a wide range of corporates.
He has represented clients on matters including the HKD8.2 billion (USD1.05 billion) refinancing of The Corniche, a luxury residential development, and a USD40 million royalty‑backed financing for Yisheng Biopharma. The latter was the first deal of this category in China’s biopharmaceutical sector and was selected as one of China Business Law Journal’s Deals of the Year 2022.
Wong joined Sidley Austin in 2019, having previously practised at Hogan Lovells.
