Adnan Kelana Haryanto & Hermanto (AKHH) has appointed Hendry M Hendrawan as the new managing partner to better support the firm amid artificial intelligence (AI) developments, effective 1 October.
Hendrawan has succeeded Stefanus Haryanto, a founding member of the firm who has held the managing partner role since its establishment in 2001.
Haryanto told Asia Business Law Journal that the firm was entering an era of digital transformation, where the growing influence of the digital economy and the increasing use of AI in business activities were reshaping the legal landscape.
“Hendry [Hendrawan] is well aware of these developments, and his expertise and forward-looking approach will help AKHH adapt seamlessly to these changes, ensuring that our services continue to provide added value and remain highly relevant to our clients’ evolving needs,” Haryanto told ABLJ.
Hendrawan joined the firm in 2001 and became a partner in 2009. He has vast experience across a range of industries, including insurance, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, plantations and telecommunications.
He specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration as well as insurance and criminal law, He has also represented local and multinational enterprises in a wide range of civil, criminal and commercial matters. In addition, he regularly represents clients in domestic and international arbitral proceedings, including institutional arbitrations conducted under the Indonesian National Board of Arbitration (BANI), and has defended several companies against allegations of unfair business practices at the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU).
Meanwhile, Haryanto said he had transitioned to the senior partner role and would primarily focus on providing assurance and continuity to the firm’s clients. He would remain personally available to offer legal services whenever the firm required my involvement, while also supporting the leadership in developing long-term strategies and maintaining client trust, said Haryanto.
With more than 25 years of legal practice, Hendrawan not only brought extensive professional expertise but also possessed a deep understanding of AKHH’s culture as a firm dedicated to delivering excellent and timely legal services, said Haryanto. His longstanding commitment and proven leadership made him the natural choice to take on the role of managing partner, added Haryanto.
