NATO launched a new defence mission on Friday to reinforce Europe’s eastern flank with equipment from France, Denmark, Germany and the UK, following Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace earlier this week. Secretary-General Mark Rutte said the new mission was a response to the “reckless and unacceptable” breach of allied territory.
